The Gymboss miniMAX Interval Timer and Stopwatch is a small multi-interval timer. The miniMAX timer is the trainers timer – its does everything the Classic Gymboss does in addition to saving up to 20 programs and offers up to 25 different intervals. allowing you to time all your work and rest periods.
The miniMAX is an advanced model, designed for timing extremely complex interval programs consisting of more than 2 different intervals. If your program only has 1 or 2 different intervals you DO NOT NEED THIS MODEL. Due to the nature of complex intervals this timer is HARDER TO SETUP than the Classic, Plus, or Charge model Gymboss and REQUIRES MORE PATIENCE TO LEARN HOW TO USE IT. HIIT & Tabata
Gymboss timers are made to keep your HIIT workouts efficient and effective. The miniMAX allows programming up to 25 different intervals for interval ladders to increase the length of work and decrease the length of recovery during a workout. At the end of each interval, Gymboss vibrates or beeps to let you know when it is time to work or rest – no more watching the clock!
Gymboss timers are perfect for Tabata workouts – set the intervals for 20 seconds and 10 seconds for 8 repeats. Run, bike, row, squat, lunge – pick your favorite – and go as hard as you can for the 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, and repeat 8 times. This is the ultimate HIIT routine. There are many different routines to do Tabata style, and the Gymboss is the perfect timer to get the job done.
Weightlifting
Rest is important when weightlifting. Different rest times yield very different results and providing consistent rest allows you to reach goals and watch your progress. Not timing rest can result in workouts that may run much longer than planned.
Use the Gymboss to time an exact rest period, such as 60 seconds, or whatever rest time you desire, between every set. Set the rest you desire and the beep and/or vibration of the Gymboss lets you know when your rest is over. Or, set the repeating feature and complete a disciplined workout of 20 sets in 30 minutes with approximately 60 seconds rest between each set, that’s a 30 minute workout every time!
MMA and Boxing
Gymboss timers allow you to keep your eye on the prize – not the clock. MMA and boxing training programs require discipline to achieve maximum benefits. Many new school trainers follow old school programs of 3-5 minutes of work to 1 minute of rest but also incorporate many short bursts of very high intensity follow by short recovery to mimic actual boxing and MMA fights.
